Is it is necessary to do type rating after getting CPL to serve in an airline? Can it be done after some time?

Type Rating is not a compulsory requirement after completing CPL. But the logic of doing TR is to reduce the number of competition for any vacancy. For example : There may be 2000 CPL holders in the market but the number of type rated Candidates be may around 1000. So for a vacancy of 200 you will face less competition if you are type rated as compared to being just a CPL holder. Presently the market is doing good and airlines are more interested in taking CPL holders and vacancies for type rated Candidates are announced less in numbers. INDIGO has just hired almost 200-300 candidates who were CPL holders and not type rated. So, you have a fair amount of chance to get a job even after CPL. Type Rating can be done anytime after getting CPL. It is not compulsory to do it immediately after your complete CPL.
