No Niharika. Not mandatory but most of IIMs gives extra weight-age for work experience. If you score very high, then have a good chance to get a call for next step.

No, it is not mandatory to have work experience to get a call from IIMs. It depends on your CAT percentile, if your score is more than 95 percentile in CAT then you can get calls from IIMs.
