If you are planning to join engineering degree, it is mandatory that you become proficient in programming in C and C+ programming languages.

As far as I can understand, you are asking where C/C++ language will land you in IT field as an engineer. Yes, if you are good at any of these programming language combined with a degree, you can surely enter into the world of IT
