Yes, even if you studied the local language in 10th grade, you must take LPT to get selected as an RBI Assistant. The Language Proficiency Test is conducted after the main exam for RBI assistants. Once you clear the main exam, you need to appear in LPT on the required date. Usually, basic grammar, vocabulary, and reading-based questions in the local language of the RBI office for which one has applied are asked in this test. The purpose of the LPT is to determine whether the selected candidate will be comfortable working with the locals in the region.
