    It is not mandatory. However, some institutes do mention the dress code for interviews and students are expected to comply. Formal attire also enhances ones personality and gives inner confident to one as well.

    It is not mandatory unless it is mentioned in invitation letter. Although wearing a formal will be an advantage for you. As you are going for professional studies, you should maintain professional attire. Further in some interviews, formal attire is not mandatory, but it contains marks. You can say it is kind of a tie-breaker.
