Is it must to join a Coaching for CAT 2012?

Hello, I am planning to give CAT 2012. I want to get admission into top IIMs or SJMSOM. So is it compulsory to join a coaching class for CAT. I am a IT professional and don't get time from monday to friday for self study due to work. but i am free on weekends. Is coaching must for me?
