No, those exams are to be taken up to get into top colleges or universities. You need not go through any competitive exams to get into AIMS.

Greeting from AIMS Institute! The eligibility criteria is student need to be given any of the All india entrance exam (MAT, CAT, KMAT, etc.), and need to have 50% above in the UG course which is mandatory. We also suggest you log in: https://theaims.ac.in/aims-corporate.html. -
Yes, you have to give MAT or CAT exam for MBA to get into AIMS. And, you have to get good marks also in the exam, then they will contact you to take admission in AIMS, only if you scored the required marks. If they select you, then you can go for interview round.
