Is it necessary for me to have the work experience in the same field in which I want to pursue MBA?

I am planning to pursue MBA from IGNOU.

No, that is not needed. You can have work experience in any field. However, when you are invited for an interview at an MBA college, you must be able to answer them about your past and professional experience. Colleges in India also accept MBA students without work experience but I strongly recommen
