Is it necessary to clear IIT for Indians to become an Astronaut in NASA?

I am a 12 class student in PCM stream & I have completed my 12th Boards from CBSE school.Since, I scored only 70 marks in JEE MAINS hence I am not eligible for JEE ADVANCED, but I am keen interested to become an Astronaut in NASA,please tell me should I take drop or choose other reliable institute?

    It is not necessary to be an IITian to become Astronaut at NASA . You are required to be an engineer or Scientist with Pilot license and sufficent flying experience to be an astronaut.
