Is it necessary to clear the entrance test to join IIT s or top engineering college?

I'm a class10.I recently realized that I don't have potential to become a successful science/engineering graduate as I failed in the entrance test to a coaching centre preparing for JEE.How will I clear JEE if I'm unable clear this simple entrance?Should I drop my ambition and take something easier

You must have appeared for some high profile coaching center without much preparation. It should not dissuade you in withdrawing from your interest field. In fact it is no indicator of your aptitude. You are very young and have enough time to improve your physics and maths, continue the hard work. A
