It is not necessary, as the preparation is entirely different.Even General students can also do well in CAT.

Hi, No, its not necessary to do B.tech from IIT to get qualified for CAT. In order to pursue MBA you need to have: Good academic record, preferably 50% plus in graduation. Relevant undergraduate degree form recognized university. Plus you need to appear in various management entrance tests like:
