Is it necessary to do B.Tech to get into ISRO? Which are the ideal colleges/branches I should opt for?

    It is not necessary to do B.Tech though it will raise your chances of getting into it. Through B.Tech, one need to have their stream of aeronautical and aerospace engineering. After completing the engineering, one has to go through a one year exam preparations and training process which after you will get into ISRO.
    Another and the most convenient way for ISRO lovers is to join IIST, which is Indian Institute Of Space Research. You can get through this college, your JEE Mains and Advanced marks but it is very difficult to get into as cut-off is very high and accompanying with the toughest national minds.

    I won't say it is necessary to do a B.Tech but it would tremendously increase your chances to get into ISRO.
    Best option would be getting into IIST (Indian Institute of Space technology). This institute offers three courses which are B.Tech in aerospace engineering, B.tech in avionics and a 5-year dual degree. For getting into IIST one has to appear for JEE Mains and JEE advance. The JEE advance scores are considered for admission into the institute although you should have some minimum qualifying score in the mains too.
