No, to pursue regular MBA in India, you don't need to have any work experience.
For Executive MBA one should have 5-6 years of experience . -

No, it is absolutely not necessary to have work experience to get admitted in any of the top B-Schools to pursue MBA, but you will definitely have an edge over many of the applicants for the same if you have a good relevant work experience. But, coming to the point, most of the weightage is for your scores, group discussion and the personal interview.

Having work experience prior to purusing MBA will come to ones advantage at the time of campus placements. However, to seek admission in MBA ( full time) one is not required to have any work experience. The only requirement is that one should be a graduate with minimum 50% marks and should have cleared CAT. The higher the score that one gets at CAT the brighter are the chances to get admission in top MBA school.
