Yes, colleges like IIM definitely expect its students to qualify CAT with 99+ percentile, then only you are eligible to take admission there.

Yes, it is important to know that to qualify IIMs, you need to give CAT because it is solely way to get into an IIM.

Yes, every IIM short list students based on their CAT percentile, academic marks and work experience. So, CAT score is a must here.

Yes, it is very important. However, some IIMs do accept the GMAT score.

Hello! To get admission into any of the IIMs, one has to not only clear the CAT exam with a very good score(99+ percentile for the old IIMs), but also perform well in their respective interview rounds.
