If you see master chefs arounds like Kunal Kapoor, Raveer Brar, Sanjeev Kapoor all have done degree in Hotel management first and then they opted and followed their passion of culinary. Hotel MAnahement is whole package not just specialisation. BAsic should be industry specific and specialisation should be domain. institions like AAFT - SOHT and IHMs across India gives plethora of opportunites for the same.

One can choose any path as both are vitals in its own sense. However doing Bachelor's in Hotel Management opens more avenues for a person post completing the graduation. Institutes like AAFT offer courses in both stream for a suitable candidate.

No it in not necessary to take admission in specialised in cunilary course to be chef, he/she can do B.Sc or Bhm in hotel management or Diploma in hotel management. Hotel hire chefs from both categories. Many executive chefs in big hotels actually started with BHM .

If you would like to become a Chef than You can enroll  in any of the Hotel Management Degree programme, However if you have decided that you want to pursue a career as a chef than Hotel Management Degree programme with a specialisation in Culinary Arts would be more appropriate, Because it will be having the syllabus which cover all key areas of Food Production, Bakery and confectionary providing you all the technical skills and knowledge required for a professional Chef.
