Is it okay to take up a BPO job while preparing for CAT? I have done my BE in civil. It is really difficult to study and work as a engineer.

Yes, it's okay, no issue. The most important thing you need to consider is that you need to practice everyday for CAT to get a good percentile and practice a test paper every day.

Make sure you manage time well. CAT requires good amount of preparation in order to get into top 20 colleges of India.
