Yes, it is possible. It was not earlier, but it will start this year.

Although no such provision was in place until the academic year 2016, the branch change policy is being reintroduced from this academic year. Hence, students joining NIT-Rourkela in 2017 will be able to avail this opportunity subject to certain conditions like CGPA cutoff of 8.5 of participating can
