  • Hi
If your last qualification is technical Diploma (3 year) or your last qualification is B.Sc. than only you can get lateral entry into B.Tech. and hence your B.Tech degree will become of 3 years.

Normally the duration of a regular B Tech is 4 Years comprising of 8 Semesters. AMIE/AMIETE will also take approximately similar time for completion. Again, it is advisable not to opt for short cuts and fast tracks as such courses may not be recognised.

    Hi Alida,
Engineering colleges offer direct entry in second year of the ongoing batch to the students who have done diploma. So to complete B.Tech in 3 years, you have to first do a diploma.
