is it possible to do bachelors in civil engineering, by studying at home and come for exams only, from 5th semester attend as regular?

i was an engineering student but because of family problems i had to discontinue my course before even completing my first semester. so now i want to study at home but come to do the same exams that any regular students are doing. but from fifth semester i want to attend as regular. i feel i can do.
