Is it possible to join IIT after giving JEE mains exam?

My aggregate score in 10+2 is 897 marks.

    No it is not possible. You have to give JEE advance and have to score good in it.
    In case you fail to do so, you can get good colleges on the basis of your JEE mains score too.
    Not only this most of the reputed private universities offer admissions to students on the basis of JEE score as well as marks in 12th, so you can give some good private university also a chance where you can get admission in a branch of your choice as well as a scholarship too.
