Is it possible to pursue two course at the same time, one through regular mode and the other through distance mode?
I am doing BA in English Literature, and I want to pursue BBA through distance education as well, is that possible?

Distance mode education is possible along with regular course and there is no binding that you have to do in first year itself.

Yes you may surely pursue two courses simultaneously, i.e one through full time mode and the other through distance education mode.
However as per your query I would suggest you to pursue one course at a time, by this you may give 100% in your studies.
