Is it risky to get a poor branch in a good IIT and later switch to my favorite branch by getting good CGPA (9 or above) in 1st year.

I got 6203 rank in JEE adv 2020 at this rank it is not possible to get mechanical branch in a good IIT.

    You might lose impression, and then really need to struggle to prove yourself, but don't worry, trials and strong will power always succeed, and will surely lead you to your true destination, and you will come out with flying colors, hope this helps!
