is it safe to drop a yr after graduation for not getting into the best college for advertising ,massmedia?

actually i gave entrance for advertising course for XIC,MUMBAI and IIMC,DELHI, i cleared the XIC written exam but dropped it for IIMC but could not clear its entrance so i thinking of trying again so which courses i can take up in this gap period which would help me further in this career .

If you are sure to get the admission in the best college next year than only take a drop.
