Is it tough to qualify the entrance exam conducted by BITS, Pilani as compared to the entrance exam of VIT?

The entrance exams of both the institutes are equal. One can't actually say as to which one is better. You can appear for the both entrance exam. -
Yes, entrance exam of BITS Pilani is more difficult than VITEEE.
