Is it true that after completing MBBS course one has to clear an exam to get the degree?

No, it is not like this at all. This rule is applicable for those who have completed their MBBS from other countries which are not approved by MCI. If you have completed your MBBS in India, then you don't need to appear for any exam.

It is not for a degree. It is the exam you have to clear to become doctor in government hospitals according to me and what I have read.
