Is it true that the top B-schools aren't giving call to year drop out even if their scores are good?

No, That is most certainly not true. I know a lot of people who had quit jobs to prepare for MBA and are currently in IIMA. Same is the case of people who have dropped out to prepare for something. As long as you can prove that the drop-out or quitting the job was not because of bad performance, you should be good.
