Is it true that there are fewer opportunities in engineering sector in the current time? I am afraid of choosing this field.

There are a lot of opportunities for good engineers. Depends upon how skilled and interested you are. If you learn and achieve good skills during your B.Tech, no one can stop you getting a good career in the field. Good luck.
