Is it valid to do Phd from distance education?

Yet, you can do it part time, but u have to mark ur attendence. it is different that some centers are offering phd, w

i dont know about validity, but effectivity is less as its a reasearch based course and proper facilities for research can be provided by colleges only. also they provide a step by step process in regular course. i doubt if its the same in distance course by any means.
