It depends upon your rank in your first attempt. If you really want to go for engineering, then work very hard. Get enrolled in some classroom courses. Don't just sit and do self-study because you will absolutely get distracted, no matter how good you are at studies or focusing on your studies.

It depends on your marks. If your score was too low, then you should not take drop. It would be very difficult for you to reach that level. If your score is good, but you couldn't score in advanced then it would be difficult for you to get a decent rank. I hope you are getting my point. It depends on your level. You have to figure it out. Good luck.

    Yes, definitely.
But at the same time, you must keep in mind the importance of the drop. Work hard every day for at least 6 hours daily.
Have a planned study schedule and don't forget to give the test series conducted by various institutes when you feel you have completed your portion.
    Stay true to yourself.
Best of luck! Hope my suggestion would help you.

Yes. If you are bright and ready for hard work, you should go for it. One year drop is not a big time.
    All the best.

Yes, if you can't score well in 1st attempt, you can drop a year for the same.
