Is it wise to pursue AMIE at the age of 34 yrs with no technical background & presently I am unemployed,trying for jobs after MBA(Mktg)?

I want to get into mech/civil engg fields & I just completed my MBA(Marketing) from Sikkim Manipal.I am from Calcutta & AMIE office is in my city.If i pass AMIE in mech or civil at 38-40 yrs of age can i get a job in the respective field?I'm now looking for jobs in Backoffice & pursue it parallely.
