Yes, it is worth it. But if you are taking a drop year, your main aim should be the top IITs. After that, NIT-Trichy and Warangal are good.

Taking one year drop is always not advisable but if you have made up your mind then make maximum advantage of it. NITs are always a good option because of their ROI (Return on Investments). Also, NIT-Tiruchirappalli being the oldest among NITs that provide MBA is more advisable that other NITs. Also
