The top MBA colleges in India such as the IIMs require at least 3-4 years of experience for admission to their courses. Most of the B-Schools prefer the graduates to have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience for MBA admission.

Except for a few minor ones,  there are no major drawbacks to doing an MBA with some years of work experience. The management schools give more weightage to the professionals compared to freshers. Once the candidate is inside the college, they are going to learn and experience mostly the same things.
