Hi Vivek kataria, the rank is too low to get a seat in VIT Vellore. You may get a seat only under category 3,4,or 5. Yes obviously the fees will be very high as he needs hostel also. If he gets some other government aided good college or better than VIT he may join. The fee will be atleast Rs 4-5 la

The categories are allotted at the time of counselling. If 100 seats are available in CSE or mechanical (say) in category 1, the top rankers get that.
