Is it worth to pursue a certificate in acting and anchoring from distance learning in India and why?

The anchor has to have the following skills in his or her possession: 1. Command over Language 2. Flawless Diction 3. Confidence to Face the Audience 4. Eye Contact with the Masses 5. Flawless Non-Verbal Communication 6. Pleasant Personality 7. Quality Voice and Skills of Voice.

Anchoring is the art to speak on the stage with a full control of the audience and act. The anchor has to have the following skills in his or her possession: 1. Command over Language 2. Flawless Diction 3. Confidence to Face the Audience 4. Eye Contact With the Masses 5. Flawless Non-Verbal Communication 6. Pleasant Personality 7. Quality Voice and Skills of Voice Modulation The above things cannot be imparted through distance mode and that's is why it is not advised to have a course in acting or even anchoring through distance mode. These areas of expertise are not theory subjects and can never be made a theory based alone. The students need exposure and real-time experience. It is not worth pursuing a certificate from distance learning in India or from anywhere because this 'media' thing needs real learning which is more than the classroom. Such learnings and experiences come when the cameraman gets time to learn the nuances and advanced things at a dedicated place. If we allow distance learning to run and sell such a course and people start doing the same, it will be tough for the field of videography and photography or even film making to get people who actually know what to do. Creative aspects of learning are developed when a class meets. Hence, we may not suggest a totally distance mode course in camera works or lighting or direction or even acting. Practical learning has to be there, at any cost. It is not worth doing any course which needs professional competence which is developed by personal contact with the institution and in regular classes. There are many aspects of media related courses and it should be clear to us that distance learning cannot develop the level of skills and competence that regular courses can do. It is possible that one does distance learning studies when a foundational skill-set is already earned. Distance learning was not devised as an alternative to classroom learning or practical learning with the teachers. The same applies to the question as well. FCP is something which is a special learning and through the distance mode, I do not think that it is possible to comprehend and learn the best of FCP like tool through distance. Besides, in India, we do not have that strong and fault-free delivery system of distance learning programmes.
