Law is a very pragmatic field and it is advisable to attend regular college. While pursuing an LLB, it is very important to be a part of the classroom discussion and to actively participate in the teaching process. Further, the moot court exercises, the debates, and other extra-curricular activities help in the over-all development of a student, which will definitely help them later.
However, if the online/long-distance program in NOT LLB but a Diploma or Certificate Course, it is a decent option. A lot of these programs are conducted only online, even by reputed National Law Universities.

    Hi,
Having a knowledge of the law and studying law are two very different things. Law is a very vast subject and very interesting as well. When you study law while attending regular lectures in college, you tend to study more and more and you get deep knowledge regarding your subjects of law. Whereas when you opt for a distance learning course, you merely get the knowledge of the subject. Also, the law courses in the colleges gets an active participation from the students by way of moot courts, debates, elocution competitions, seminars and guest lectures, which is a very important part of legal education. Hi,
It's not worth doing law from a distance learning university because the knowledge you get in a regular college will be more and keep you on a safe side for your future.

As far as I know, BCI, which is the regulating body for LLB course, would not allow a candidate to pursue the program through distance education.
But, if he/she does so, of which I'm not sure, there will be no benefit of the degree. You need to understand the provisions of law and how they are beneficial for or against the society which is possible only by pursuing a regular course where you will be discussing problems, facts, solutions and many other things with your batchmates and professors.
