Even if you are interested in CSE only, you can still take DTU Mechanical, and learn programming on your own through online/offline courses, you can keep a decent percentage in Mechanical, and then sit for the numerous software companies that visit dtu for placements, about half of which are open for all branches. Else, if you want to study CSE in college only, go for JMI, don't know about its placements.

There is a very important observation in this. The comparison should not be done between DTU and JMI, as there is a difference between mechanical and CSE as well. For some reasons, I feel mechanical is a more engaging field than IT. There has been a fall in IT sector jobs. DTU is primarily engineering and technology based very old university. JMI also has a great legacy but is a multi stream place. I shall vouch for mechanical engineering than CSE. So vote goes to DTU.
