It was established under the Act of State Legislature Madhya Pradesh and is notified in the Official Gazette (extraordinary) of the State Government. The ITM was ranked 38 overall by Outlook 2020. ITM University, School of Management, Gwalior Overall ranking by India Today is 129 out of 178 colleges in India in 2021. the university has been ranked 13th among India's Best Private Universities by India Today Magazine in 2018. The School of Management at ITM University, Gwalior has been ranked at the 32nd position by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in the year 2023. The university has also been ranked among the Best in India by NIRF-2016, MHRD Government of India.</p>
