    Delhi is home to Jamia Millia Islamia, or JMI, as it is commonly called. AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), NCTE (National Council for Technical Education), and NBA (National Board of Accreditation) have authorised and accredited a number of Jamia Millia's courses. It was created in 1920 by an Act of the Indian Parliament and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has granted Jamia Millia Islamia University an A+ grade for accreditation. Some of the courses offered by Jamia Millia are approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and NCTE and accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation). It was established by an ACT of the Parliament of India in 1920 and is approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission).
