Delhi is home to Jamia Millia Islamia, or JMI, as it is commonly called. AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), NCTE (National Council for Technical Education), and NBA (National Board of Accreditation) have authorised and accredited a number of Jamia Millia's courses. It was created in 1920 by an Act of the Indian Parliament and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
