Hello Syed,
JEE Mains is required to be cleared if a student wishes for admission in any of the National Institutes of Technology or centrally funded technical institutes or also into IIT. However Tamil Nadu Government since last year, has stopped entrance exam for admission to engineering colleges in the state. Of course this is applicable for government colleges and government aided colleges. Yes, it is necessary to take admission, if you want to go for central counselling for the government colleges and as well as for private. For opting for IIT, you need to clear JEE mains for JEE advance , but there are some colleges that give admission on management quota so can directly contact college.

If candidates are facing issue in live photo capture, it can be due to mismatch from photo uploaded in Aadhar. For this, they need to visit the Aadhar update centre and get their current photo updated in the Aadhaar database.

The issue can also be due to any servor error/slow internet connectivity for which candidates can try uploading it after some time. Also, there can be a case of laptop/computer not supporting the webcame, for this, candidates can upload the photo using QR code provided in the application process.
