Hello Syed, JEE Mains is required to be cleared if a student wishes for admission in any of the National Institutes of Technology or centrally funded technical institutes or also into IIT. However Tamil Nadu Government since last year, has stopped entrance exam for admission to engineering colleges

Yes, it is necessary to take admission, if you want to go for central counselling for the government colleges and as well as for private. For opting for IIT, you need to clear JEE mains for JEE advance , but there are some colleges that give admission on management quota so can directly contact coll
