Hello Anand, if you want to take admission in India's top reputed engineering colleges then it is necessary to qualify JEE Mains exam. It is the first stage of JEE Exam. After qualifying it you become eligible to apply for JEE Advanced exam which is the second stage of IIT-JEE Exam. Through qualifying JEE Mains you can get admission in NITs, CFITs.

Yes, mostof the colleges have JEE Mains compulsory as eligibility criteria. However UGC recognised, one of the top provate institutes Lovely Professional University has their own internal exam similar to JEE Mains called LPU NEST. If you have not appeared for JEE you can qualify LPU NEST for admission in B.Tech. LPU has gained its name and trust among the students owing to its quality education, certifications and placements. As per my information last year the highest package for CSE went upto approximately. 63 Lacs for LPU student. Anand, if you want admission in some government institute like IIT NIT, etc then definitely you need to clear JEE exam. But yes if you are fine with private universities like LPU, SRM, etc then you can go for them without JEE. For admission in them you have to appear for their entrance test or if you have good marks in your previous qualification you can also get direct admission in B.Tech. Both the universities are known for their infrastructure as well as good placements. LPU even offers good scholarships to its students. Check their websites for more details. Best wishes.

Yes for most of the colleges starting 2-3 rounds of counseling are on the basis of your JEE marks and ranks after that 1 last counseling round will be done which will be based on 12th% result but while reaching to that round many seats are already filled in previous rounds along with branches and you will miss the chance of getting good college.

Can you please confirm what you mean by “2027 mock test” — do you mean:

  1. BPSC 2027 Mock Test Series (for your upcoming exam prep)?
  2. Or a general mock test for 2027 government exams (like UPSC, SSC, Banking, etc.)?
  3. Or are you referring to a specific subject/year 2027 question paper mock (e.g., “BPSC 2027 Prelims Mock Test”)?

With a 300 SC category rank in CAT, your chances for NIT Trichy MBA are relatively high. Based on 2025 data, NIT Trichy generally shortlists SC candidates with CAT percentiles around 60-65. To achieve a 300 rank under SC category, you would need about a 65-70 percentile, or a score of roughly 60-65 marks out of 198 in CAT 2025, depending on difficulty and normalization process. Final selection is also based on interview, academics, and work experience. Yes, you are fairly within touch, but I would encourage you to have a solid overall profile as well to increase your chances of admission.
