    JIS University Kolkata was established under the JIS University ACT 2014. JIS University, Kolkata is approved by UGC (University Grants Commission), AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), NCTE, PCI (Pharmacy Council of India), and the Bar Council of India. The university is recognised as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Government of India, and is a member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities) and UNAI. JIS Kolkata is accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). .
