    JIS University Kolkata was established under the JIS University Act, 2014. JIS University, Kolkata is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), UGC (University Grants Commission), PCI (Pharmacy Council of India), NCTE, and the Bar Council of India. The JIS University Kolkata is recognised by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Government of India as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation and is a member of UNAI and AIU (Association of Indian Universities). JIS Kolkata is also accredited by NAAC.
