JNU is a public/ government and the foremost institution in India established in 1966 by an act of Parliament. The college has number one ranking by NAAC in India with a point of 3.91 out of 4. JNU has remained in top 3 In India by the NIRF ranking since 2016 and has also received the Best University Award from the President of India in 2017.
