    Industrialist, educator, and visionary Koneru Lakshmaiah was one of the first people in Andhra Pradesh to create a private engineering college.KL Deemed to be University was founded in 1980–1981 as KL College of Engineering. In 2006, UGC elevated KL College of Engineering to Autonomous, and in 2009, UGC, MHRD Govt. of India, designated KL Deemed to be University to be a Deemed to be University.The deemed university has received accreditation from COA, PCI, and NAAC with an A+ rating. It is also acknowledged by the UGC, DSIR, AICTE, and the BAR Council of India. According to NIRF 2021, KL University is ranked 35.
