Is LL.B pass-out eligible for UGC NET?

Hello, As per the NTA guidelines, aspirants who have qualified master's degree or are enrolled in the post-graduation, can apply for the exam. So, to appear for the exam, firstly you have to enroll in LL. M. degree. Before applying for the exam make sure you fulfill other requirements also. To appear for the exam, you have to score at least 55% aggregate marks for General/OBC category or 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST/PwD category in the post-graduation. You can appear for the NET exam after completion of a degree or in the qualifying year. If you want to appear for NET JRF then your age must not exceed 30 years. For LLM aspirants the minimum age limit is 33 years. Or if you want to apply for Assistant Professor then you have no need to fulfill this age criteria.

Hello, You cannot do UGC NET after LLB. You have to complete LLM first, then only you would be eligible to sit for the UGC NET exam.

According to the norms of the NTA UGC NET LLB graduates are not eligible to appear for the UGC NET Exam, as LLB is a Bachelor’s degree. To appear in the exam, you must complete your Post-Graduation in LL. M. To appear in the exam you must fulfil the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria under NTA: The minimum age required is 30 years (general category), 33 years LLM graduates), 35 years (SC/ST/OBC/Transgender/Female candidates). There is no age limit for the post of an Assistant Professor. The minimum educational qualification required is that a candidate has completed their Post-Graduation with the minimum 55% (General category) or 50% (SC/ST/OBC/Transgender). You can start your preparation for the UGC NET Exam from the first year of your Post Graduation. You can check it from the official website of NTA.
