London Metropolitan University is a public research university in London, England. London Metropolitan University has a rich history and it traces its origins dating back to 1948. However, London Metropolitan University was created in 2002 by merging of London Guildhall University and the University of North London. It was the first merger between two universities in the United Kingdom. Its roots lie firmly in the nineteenth century with the establishment of the Metropolitan Evening classes for young men in 1848.
