Is Lovely Professional University good for B.Des (graphics design)?

If I talk about The B. Design ( Graphics) in LPU this wonderful course with lot of possibilities of great career in field of graphic designing. LPU provides specialisation in B. design (graphics) as follow: 1. Print based. 2. UI UX design 3. Motion graphics I have done my Masters in multimedia from Lovely Professional University. First of all, there is separate Department Called Multimedia which comes under school of design III. This Department has well-equipped labs with high-end workstations and it has gaming studios also where students can play and test the games on play station, PC and x box platform. Department has Separate Graphic studios for better environment for work. It is a practical based course. Multimedia students of LPU has campus placements in companies like Amazon ( as 3d Artist), Rockstar games, Kony India, Xentrix studio, DQ entertainment, Prime focus, Green gold animation and so on with maximum packages of 8 Lacs per annum and average packages are 5 Lacs per annum. After B. Design in multimedia and graphics and even Masters degrees also. Faculty members are well experienced and specialised and everyone from industry having More than 8 to 10 years of experience in their respective field. Everyone is so helpful and good mentors. Reality is LPU is always give platform of placement to students even they give soft skills and personality development classes also so students of creative field also do well in presentations of their work and designs.

Let me brief you first what I came to know when I inquired for my nephew, then you can decide whether it is good or not 1. Four year B. Design programme is Internationally accepted programme for global careers, which trains students in the domains of print, package design, UI design, motion graphics and environmental graphics. 2. A set of four elective courses in a related area are offered to develop a competency beyond the major area #3D VISUALIZATION #ANIMATION #CONCEPTUAL DESIGN #EFFECTS AND SIMULATION #GAMING 3. In order to deliver the best, tie ups with industry has been established where content is delivery by industry experts, Projects are executed in collaboration with industry and Internships are floated to engage deeply in hands on real-life situations 4. Student after successful completion of 3 years will have two choices :- (a) To move out with B.Sc. (Design - Graphics) Degree, (b) To continue for the next 1 year. To complete B. Design (Graphics) Degree. 5. Student may be given an option to go for 4 weeks study tour (International Exposure Option) to USA/ European countries or any other country as decided by the University subject to conditions. LPU is one of the best places in India for Multimedia, Graphics, and Gaming. The curriculum emphasis on sound theoretical grounding in principles and process of game art and design with extensive practical works, it enable proficiency in students to handle and deliver industry standard projects/output. The faculty members are from the industry like red chilies Studios, Prime focus studios and they have experience of more than 15 years. The multimedia department has a separate block and has well-equipped labs with dell workstations to handle high-end software like adobe after effects, Unity Maya, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Nuke, Fusion, Z brush, photoshop, etc. Even the department has good quality of resources like Black magic cinemas cameras, canon cameras, trolly, jib, and well-equipped special VFX studio with permanent Chroma backgrounds. Placements are also great. This year also his friends and juniors got placed in companies like Amazon, rockstar games, Kony India, Xentrix studios, Lolly POP Design Studio etc. With average packages of 5 Lacs per annum and maximum packages are 8 to 10 Lacs. Gaming started in 2017. Department has a separate Gaming studio also where students can play and test the games on Ps4 and xbox 360+department focus from Game design to execution with complete production pipeline its 95 percent practical based course with hands-on experience with software like unity, Maya, Substance painter, brush etc. And live projects too.

Dear Adarsh, Yes, Lovely Professional University is good for the B. Des (graphics design). One of my friends did the B. Des (graphics design) programme from LPU itself. Lovely Professional University is providing B. Design course in Graphics. It is a 4-year course and internationally accepted. As part of the course, the students are trained in the domains of print, package design, UI design, Motion graphics and environmental graphics etc. The eligibility criteria is that you should have 50% marks in 12th. You have to appear for the university exam for qualification if you have less than 60% marks in 12th. And also for getting a scholarship from the university. The course curriculum and the practical works as part of it are moulding the students to become experts in the field of graphics. Well experienced faculty members and the infrastructure in the university makes you explore the field. Regular workshops and exhibitions provide a platform for the students to meet and learn from the eminent persons in the field. You will love the atmosphere both in the classroom and on the campus.
