Well after completing your diploma you can proceed with B.tech Lateral entry programme. In my opinion Lovely professional university is good in all aspects. Hello, Yes, you can opt for B.Tech Civil Engineering I did my B.tech in Civil Engineering from LPU, So, I will give you the exact picture of Civil Engineering at LPU. Apart from being one of Indias best civil engineering colleges in Punjab, Lovely Professional University takes pride in obtaining the NABL accreditation. In order to enhance the learning experience of the civil engineering students, the University has established a laboratory named, Unilab mechanical testing of building and construction material. Unilab is established as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and abides by the technical administrative procedure according to the guidelines. National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) is a Constituent Board of Quality Council of India (QCI) that provides CAB (Conformity Assessment Bodys) accreditation. After doing Diploma, you will save one year by enrolling in second year of B. Tech program and will complete your study in three years. Now, I will give you my opinion based on feedback received from students who are known to me and are currently studying Civil Engineering at LPU. Besides, few colleagues of mine who have previously worked in the same Department. So, following are the highlights of Civil Engineering in LPU: - 1. Most of the faculty staff is from reputed organizations with their highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty has got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of B. Tech program in which students have to pick a live project based on practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship program which could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can see actual construction work going on. Be prepare to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and on analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives.
