Is LPU a good option for civil engineering?

Hello! Being an alumni of LPU I would like to throw some light on the specific programme outcomes of CIVIL ENGINNERING: 1: Creating Civil Engineers who are competent enough to deal with real life problems and providing their sustainable solutions through knowledge of mathematics, Science and engineering, including project based learning and industry internship. 2 : Imparting knowledge of the latest technology and development in the field of Civil Engineering through updated curriculum and its content, incorporating software learning, E learning, practical learning. 3 : Skill development, both technical as well as soft skills, to make them ready to work in industry or as an entrepreneur, in its own domain or in multidisciplinary domain to achieve the desired outcome. 4 : Inculcate a culture of lifelong learning through continuous updation and improvement in their knowledge domain and enhancing the professional benchmarking. 5 : Build civil engineers who have a sense of social responsibility and deep understanding of professional knowledge and ethics in discharging their duties with right decision making at appropriate time to increase productivity and effectiveness. Placement: 19.75 LPA (Sobha Realty) was the highest salary package last year. Huge number of Campus placement drives with reputed brands used to be held every year for this course. Students are placed in the best brands like Larsen & Tubro Ltd. , Simplex Infrastructure pvt Ltd. , Gammon India, National Highway Authority of India, HCC, Shapoorji & Pallonji, DLF Homes, RITES Ltd. , NCC, SAIL, DMRC BHEL, KEC INTERNATIONAL LIMITED and many more. Scope of Civil Engineering is not limited to Domestic base rather its been accepted globally in different career aspect or profile like Corporate job, Government Job, Consultant, Teaching, Research, Entrepreneurship etc. Salary is competitive enough as it is unique field, no alternative of an experienced Civil Engineering in the industry.

In Civil Engineering emphasis is on the evolution of manmade infrastructure as they understand that how they have evolved to the present scenario. With advancement of technology in leaps and bounds the future of civil engineering in the years to come will be crucial, especially with the establishment of smart cities. My Friend in this domain at LPU was telling me that Students are exposed to different practical oriented fun games and learning activities such as competitions, quizzes, workshops, live projects, etc. Which create an opportunity for students to engage and hone up their analysis, design and drawing skills which is required at industry. Intellectual Industry officials regularly visit school for guiding faculty members and students itself. Workshops are being arranged for enhancing student knowledge. : Experienced faculty members of the discipline nominated as mentors to eligible students which resulted in students satisfaction and improved placements. School of Civil Engineering, Lovely Professional University, has signed MOU with NHAI for giving paid internship opportunity to our existing B.Tech and M.Tech Civil Engineering students. The school in co-ordination with Division of Career Services has moved from strength to strength and has placed many students in national and international organizations like Al-Rakha, Simplex, Cognizant etc.

Outlook ranks LPU at number 9 in Outlook Care ranking 10th best university for Training and Placement in 2019 by Knowledge Review. Civil engineering will always be in demand. The human civilisation will always be engaged in the task of construction be it for the residential purpose, commercial or for leisure. After doing a course in civil engineering you can become: Construction manager. Geotechnical engineer. Environmental engineer. Public Health engineer. Transportation engineer. Urban planning engineer.

There are good numbers of Universities offering this course but I would say LPU is best. I have done MBA from Lovely Professional University and I had many friends from Civil Engineering, so I have idea course, Placements, Curriculum, as they use to share with me. As per my experience, LPU is Best OPTION. In Civil Engineering LPU emphasizes the evolution of manmade infrastructure as LPU understands how they have evolved to the present scenario. With the advancement of technology in leaps and bounds, the future of civil engineering in the years to come will be crucial, especially with the establishment of smart cities. Actually I did MBA from Lovely Professional University but I have one friend who has done B.Tech Civil Engineering From LPU. He told me B.Tech in civil engineering course involves so much more than theoretical know-how.
