Being a alumni of LPU, I would say Lovely Professional University is India's the largest private university. Here you will find students from every state of India and not just India, students of several other countries also study here. So, when it comes to ragging, LPU, like most universities in India, has zero tolerance. The administration is doesn't not entertain any type of ragging and if any student is found to have ragged a fellow student, strict action is taken against the student. The punishment is in accordance with the UGC (University Grants Commission) Regulations made to curb this menace; apart from any penal laws that are in force at that time and is applies to the situation. To ensure that no fresher faces ragging in any form, the University authorities have issued the following guidelines/suggestions: Freshers or any other student should detest from doing anything with or against their will. Even when ordered by their seniors. Freshers or any other student, whether being victim or witnesses to any incident of ragging are advised to promptly report the occurrence of the incidence at the Anti-Ragging Helpline. Apart from the number, students are free to contact the University officials as well. LPU will ensure the identity of student who reports incident (s) of ragging shall be protected and shall not be subject to any adverse consequences for reporting the incidents. This shows how serious LPU authorities are when it comes to tackling the menace of ragging.

Hi there, LPU is completely drug-free and has no ragging at all. LPU has Zero tolerance towards drugs & alcohol. A dedicated & expert department of security officials and personnel are on duty 24 x 7 to ensure that no drug ever enters the campus. And to help in this procedure there over 400 full-time security officials, thousands of security cameras, LPU is one of the safest campuses in the world. Our security team includes experienced ex-military men and women. Did you know that LPU has more CCTVs than even the New Delhi International Airport? The security department provides the necessary electronic security support system with more than 4000 CCTV cameras for the safety of the students and staff. I have been an LPUian from past 4 years now, and this has been one of the best decisions of my life. I have pursued Masters degree from LPU and now pursuing Ph.D. from the same. I have been staying in LPU-hostels for all the time and it has felt not less than home. Ragging is a big thing, there are strict rules against such in-disciplinary activities. Anyone found doing such thing is suspended from the university. There are CCTV cameras everywhere in the campus, in classrooms, in hostel-corridors. I feel, LPU is the safest place to be in. Also, the staffs that LPU has for this security purpose are very well trained. A majority of security personnel and gunmen are experienced ex-servicemen, fully equipped and trained. I have studied in this university and I never had seen any such acts neither faced such situations personally. Lovely Professional University is ragging free educational organisation. Campus is very strict about for ragging and violence. There is an Anti-Ragging Committee designed as well for looking on these topics. In the past 13 years no case has been reported for the same because LPU is very strict towards their rules and regulations. Its atmosphere is very friendly with lots of security persons in its 600 acres of campus. You will SEE one security person after every 100 meters and they show quick response. Also CCTV cameras are well installed around every corner of university to figure out any issue- in hostels, classrooms, gates, lawns etc. Ragging is totally prohibited in LPU, and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging, whether actively or passively or being a part of conspiracy of ragging is liable to be punished. University has an separate ANTI-RAGGING committee to monitor such activities inside campus. You would love the Environment here.

There are CCTV surveillance 24X7 from every corner. Undoubtedly Lovely Professional University is the biggest single campus University in Northern India (600+ Acres). LPU campus is having all advanced facilities & infrastructures (Hospital, Shopping Mall, Gym, Indoor Stadium, Post Office, Bank, Food Courts & restaurants with International cuisines, Mess & Canteen - both veg & non-veg, Hostel Facility, Gaming Points etc. ). Almost for any of your needs you need not to go outside of the campus. LPU hostel are completely ragging free & fully secured like biometric entrance is there in every entrance gates with 24X7 CCTV surveillance. Just for example I would like to mention some facts of girls' Hostel, Security of Girls is taken care of in more controlled & strict way in Lovely Professional University. The hostels of LPU are most comfortable and damn strict. There is no compromise when it comes to the security of the students. LPU residential facilities are as state of the art as the campus is. There is a round-the-clock vigil through security cameras and there is a huge army of security personnel deployed all over the university. The campus is ragging-free, drug-free, and tobacco-free. If someone has a problem in connection with the residential facilities room, one can complain. The hostel management looks into the matter and resolves it at the earliest. The female guards are deployed in the girls' hostels. There are female security guards who look after the security of the girls' hostel. The campus is ragging-free, tobacco-free, and drug-free so there is no need to fear. The Girls who want to study in the Central library at night are allotted 2 hrs. Of time and are accompanied by guards to the library and back from the library to their respective hostels. Girls are not allowed to roam around the hostel till late at night. No outsiders are allowed. Even the parents have to get a GATE pass to enter the university premises. Strict disciplinary actions are taken against those who indulge in indiscipline. This is the reason why we don't come across any untoward incidents.

LPU has zero-tolerance for drugs, ragging, smoking, and alcohol. LPU is known for strict discipline. There is a long list of don'ts as far as the conduct is concerned. Students sometimes complain that they don't feel they are in a university because they are treated like school kids when it comes to discipline. Above all, it's a ragging-free, smoking free and drug-free campus. Seldom do we come across news of an altercation between two parties or harassment of women inside the LPU campus because of the strictness in both word and spirit. There are clear instructions any student not following the rules of the university will be rusticated or suspended from the university and their scholarship will be canceled. So no one does anything that is banned. However, you must have come across news of a girl getting a package of Rs 42 lac per annum, LPU students winning Olympics, record placement of 610 students being hired in one single day. Such news cannot come from a horde of lumpens. The students have to be worthy of such placements.

Whenever you are choosing any University, you must first check about its environment, rules, and regulations. For your studies and development, you must require a proper environment where you can make your personality and learn discipline, making you more professional and active. If you want to grow and also want a safe environment then LPU is really a very better option for you. With some of my points, I can assure you that this university will provide you with the best and the safest environment for your growth and development. In LPU, a student should follow each and every rule very strictly. If any of them are found disobeying any rule, then a big punishment is there for them and they may also get suspended. So, here rules are followed very strictly and by doing this we can learn discipline. Ragging is strictly prohibited here. Nobody in this university is allowed to do ragging or bullying any student. If however, you find anyone doing such kind of activities you can complain about it to any faculty or any other staff about it and he or she will definitely get punished for such things. So, anyone roams freely on the campus without any fear. The Guards are present everywhere within the campus to maintain to protect the students and to provide any kind of facilities to them. Due to their presence, no student can think do any kind to of bad activity like teasing, bullying or harming other fellows. If you need any help you can ask the guards. They have very kind and friendly nature and they are always there to help you. Girls who are staying in hostels are given a fixed time to enter their respective hostels. The timings are 6 pm during winters and 7 or 7:30 during summers. No girl is allowed to go outside the hostel after this time or if any girl comes late then their respective wardens give a phone call to their parents to tell about it. This step is taken to provide safety to girls. Due to this rule, our parents are assured that we are safe. Use of alcohol, cigarettes or any kind of harmful things is strictly prohibited in the campus. Nobody not allowed to drink alcohol or taking drugs on campus. If anyone is found doing such things, his/her scholarship gets canceled and he or she will be suspended. Every facility like mall, hospital, playground, food courts and many more things are present within the campus so that nobody has to go far away to buy or get anything. You can get anything you want inside the campus.

Yes, LPU is a ragging-free and drug-free campus. LPU has ZERO tolerance towards drugs and alcohol. There are 400+ security officials here and about 7400+ CCTV cameras ensuring 24/7 security inside the campus. It is all thanks to all these professional security staff that ragging, drugs, or anything antisocial is just out of question. The security here makes sure of the fact that no such activities ever take place. The students who ever try to involve themselves in such activities are suspended immediately or in the worst case, they are even kicked out of the university. Sometimes the fact that LPU is in Punjab scares some people. But trust me, this should not at all be the reason for you to worry.
